Technically you don't need a degree to open a restaurant, just a lot of cash sitting in your bank account to buy property, furnish the place and pay for permits etc. A business/business management degree would, of course, be useful.
At the culinary institute of America they teach you all the necessary cooking/baking skills along with having elective business management courses. Here is there site if you need it:
So one degree from them should cover all that you need to know.
Best of luck
I would recommend Bachelor or Master degree in Business Adminstration & you may want to get a culinary degree.
Many of your state universities would be your best bet.
Check out for colleges/universities that offer business admininstration degrees. See below
When you get your masters degree, check out to start your restaurant. Best of luck!! = )
you dont need a degree to open a restaurant altho you definitely need experiance. i think you should find a school that offeres classes in restaurant/hotel, it will ready you for managing and the inner workings of restaurants. liking food and serving people has little to do with understanding how much food u need to order and all that fu stuff! good luck
Cool assignment and great answer….owning a restaurant would be a lot of fun but also tons of work. A good culinary school would probably be your best bet. Also….check out this cool new college search website I recently stumbled across….its a college search engine!!! Plus, its really easy to use.
