For Busy Professionals: 3 Reasons to Get a Degree Online

By Diane Hannover

1. Flexible Schedules

Even if youre lucky enough to have a few extra hours each week that you could devote to your education, a traditional degree programs rigid class schedule is often difficult if not impossible to fit into your own tight and rigid work, family, and just plain old living schedule. Most online degree programs give you the flexibility to take classes and 'do schoolwork' when it suits you, not the other way around.

2. No Commute

How much time do you throw away driving to and from work each day? How many more precious hours would get eaten up if you had to drive to and from school -- and could this be one of the reasons youre not going for that valuable degree in the first place? An online degree program takes the hassle and wasted commuting time out of the equation!

3. Go Your Own Pace

Many online degree programs let you progress through your classes as casually -- or as quickly -- as YOU need or want. Notice the shift in focus to YOUR time requirements versus the schools? Even more interesting: When given more control over their own schedules and pacing, many students often find they can do MORE than they originally believed!
